









Colin Woodham, the proprietor of Alpha Science Editors, was born in Scotland. He has a Scottish education at primary and secondary school levels and is a science graduate from Aberdeen University (BSc Pure Science, Upper Second Class Honours) with a postgraduate MSc degree from Leicester University. He has 22 years' experience in industry including 16 years as a freelance copy editor of electronic scientific and academic manuscripts. He has worked with PC systems since 1988.
He commenced freelance PC copy-editing for Elsevier Science Ireland Ltd (Shannon) in 1993, and has since edited for Elsevier Science Ltd (Oxford), Chapman & Hall (London), Alden Multimedia (Northampton), Datapage Ireland Ltd (Dublin), ICPC Ltd (Dublin), Oxford University Press (Oxford), Lippincott, Williams and Wilkins (USA), Microsoft Research (Cambridge), the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) (Grenoble, France), Sunrise Setting (Torquay, UK), BioMed Central (London), InHouse Creative (Dubai, UAE) and Crimson Interactive (Mumbai, India).
He currently receives freelance work from
Elsevier (The Netherlands), Maney Publishing (London), Compuscript Ireland Ltd (Shannon, Ireland), San Lucas Medical (London), Georg Thieme Verlag (Stuttgart, Germany) and Medjaden (Hong Kong).
